I remember I had a kimono when I was 9 for a Halloween costume.

Nostalgia.

For the visual side of the project, I designed one.

It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. But I'm damn proud of it.

Actually, kimono have to be one of the simplest pieces of clothing to make. They`re designed to be taken apart to be washed, and to be cut as little as possible so that you still have the fabric to use again should you want to make something else.
The seams are all pretty much straight, with nothing complex involved.

The western "Kimono Robe" is a different story.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

well, heres my kimono, the reason for the strange choise of fabric was because i ran out of fabric in that one colour, so it kinda looks like a pluzzle, i got the arms alittle bit wrong, but hey, its my first piece of clothing ever. :P dont be too harsh xD

Not bad for the first sewing project ever. In fact coordinating the color of the last minute cloth addition is a pretty good fix. But one glaring thing I have to point out - just not sewing - is which way a kimono wraps. Should be left over right. Your western habits are showing.

Right over left means you're dead. Not joking.
