tokyo fashion is the shit for hot styles indeed.

shibuya style is pretty popular lately, while harajuku style is more for the eccentric people

Street Fashion in Tokyo - 07-07-2010, 11:14 AM

street fashion in Tokyo's fashionable Harajuku area in the mid 1990s when he noticed a marked change in the way young people were dressing. Rather than following European and American trends, people were customising elements of traditional Japanese dress - kimono, obi sashes and geta sandals - and combining them with handmade, secondhand and alternative designer fashion in an innovative 'DIY' approach to dressing.

whoa haters down there. yes they may be outrageously overpriced but isn't that the point of fashion? it's supposed to be overpriced and impractical.

I suppose there are those who think that Tokyo "fashion" is cool, but it's not fashion, it's merely a mixture of poor taste, confused thinking, and a little shock value. I've also seen men walking around Tokyo in short miniskirts wearing thongs underneath, and old men in harlequin outfits with matching bowler hats and sunglasses. This isn't fashion folks, it's big city-induced mental aberration mixed with poor eyesight, color-blindness, and general lack of common sense.
lol. that's so harsh but I must agree. Well, one thing positive is, at times we all can be one of them. Mixture of PJs with bad hair due when running late or just don't feel like dressing up, we would fit right in?

This fall, I'd like to try it out in Tokyo hehe

I must admit, I am more interested in Kimonos than the Harajuku style. I think wearing a kimono can make one feel sexy about it.. NO? I tend to think so

Oh, cool. I love the second one. I love the fashionable pants the girl wears. I didn't find them in my city.

Enjoy

You are VERY lucky!!! I would love to have such an interesting job - heres a question though: how do you approach random strangers to take their photo and what is the usual reaction from the majority of them??
