And of course, you can always browse through http://www.japanesestreets.com/ to fine more pictures.

u almost killed me from the shock w that ganguro+gothic lolita, since for the sake of me i cant imagine such different styles combined. they are right the opposite from the other! i mean ganguro, dark skin, light colours clothes and makeup while gothic is white skin with dark color clothes n makeup O.o but well, japanese ppl do the impossible XD
i cant see the style, i see some ganguro, some lolita and some gothic O.o, what is harajuku then?

Harajuku is a place. But its where you usually find those styles, so they get dubbed as 'Harajuku fashion', 'Harajuku Street Fashion', or 'Japan street fashion'

Harajuku itself isn't a style - its just the area in Tokyo where you might see alternative styles more often~ (though, I heard people really only dress up on the weekends)

I study fashion and I absolutely love japanese street fashion! lots of fashion people go there to see what they are using, because the clothes dont fit on the last trend ~ it seems they are always a step forward =) i dream with the day i can go there, too T.T

You asked for it, so these are three pictures that I took today (Sunday) on the Harajuku bridge in Tokyo.

Maybe I will try to post bigger versions later.
