As long as you try to keep your fringe out of the face and not too much eyeliner, I can assure you you won't be called emo. Cierto, other people around?
Anyway, I can't tell you what to use, but I can tell you what not to use: - Lipstick. Never ever use it, by no means. Period.VK is not one particular style, each VK-rocker has it's own style, and makes him/her original. Jeezers! o__o Not until now I understood you didn't want make-up, silly me. XD
I'll give you some sight of the visual style. + Hairstyles. By mixing different hairstyles in one you can look visual at once. Usually, curls and straight hair are mixed with each other, but that might not allways look good, cierto? (; So, it's better to find a good produkt that makes the hair stiff and hard, so you can shape it your own way. Many J-Rockers use a flat fringe and make the rest of the hair stand up a little or more. Examples for medium to longer hair: 1, 2, 3. Shorter to medium hair: 1, 2, 3. If you dare you can get yourself a really freaky hairstyle. If your hair is short, extentions are your friends, just not too much. I'll continue this as I get more time. I'm heading for a spanish cours. XD ~ + Clothing. I can't deny that the visual style is feminine/androgyn, whether you are female or not. But that doesn't mean that the VK-styled males are gay or whatever people say. It's cool, it's orininal and mostly plain hot. There's really not any particular clothing that is visual, but there are a few things that are pretty common in the VK styles. The minishorts for example. Members of bands like Alice Nine, Vidoll, Ayabie, An Cafe and the GazettE use them. They are, as said, minishorts, used together with "knee-pants" and bonds on each side of the thigh. Examples: 1, 2, 3. Costumes like this one are a little too much while going around shopping and such, or no? But Ruki is a great example for the lighter VK style. Kai too: 1, 2, 3, 4, cowboyhat :B. Note their coats, especially the leopard one: Click. Alice Nine: 1, 2, Shou, Hiroto, Tora, Saga, Nao. + Jewelry I guess you noticed a lot of jewelry in the previous pictures that are quite nice. I think there's nothing really visual in jewelry, but piercings allways pull it off. Take Hitsugi for example. I guess you've seen all MYV's piercings allready, so... That's it! XD Some examples for VK-styled bands to see hairstyles, clothes, jewelry and piercings: Lolita23q, Irokui, Ayabie, GHOST, Alice Nine And as an ending of the story I'm going to introduce the golden pants! Never to forget. (; I know I'm showing you a lot of GazettE, but it's not my fault that they are a great example. C: Wiki; Visual kei (ヴィジュアル系, vijuaru kei) refers to a movement in Japanese popular culture characterized by the use of eccentric, sometimes flamboyant looks. This usually involves striking make-up, unusual hair styles and elaborate costumes, often, but not always, coupled with androgyny or distinctively feminine or bishōnen aesthetics. x麗 性x last.fm ★ facialbook ★ family ★ youtube Uruha, Bou, Yuuto, Shiyuu, Yuuichi, Yomi, Hiko, Hide, Zero |
