Okonomiyaki - 11-27-2007, 04:16 PM

I'm just wondering if anyone has tried this snack from Osaka, Japan. I've never tasted it, so I was wondering. I've heard that you could put chicken on it and that sounds tastey.

I had it several times. It varied in quality considerably from place to place, but in general, I wasn't a huge fan. I preferred kara'age, tonkatsu, donburi, zosui, and yakisoba. Okonomiyaki was ok when done right, though.

I've had it and it is great. This pic is from a little shop in Osaka.

DELICIOUS... it can be a snack and it can also be a meal.. the main ingredient is cabbage..

I have not tasted an okonomiyaki with chicken though.. its kinda weird using chicken on it or did you mean chicken egg??

the hiroshima okonomiyaki is a little different than that of osaka but both are yummy

I`ve never been an okonomiyaki fan. Some places are decent, some aren`t.

Personally, out of the same category, I prefer takoyaki or yakisoba.
Chijimi is also really good, but it`s Korean, not Japanese. Fairly similar to okonomiyaki though.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.
