Osaka Okinomiyaki its the best!!

I think i have eaten Okinomiyaki in nearly every city in japan i still think Osaka's got the best!

Can you tell me a little more about this type of food?

well, it's okonomiyaki is famous.

It's traditionally ceremonial (I think)

And I REALLY want to try it. But I don't know where to get it.

It resembles a pizza insofar as it's round and flat, yes... But the similarities end there, if Wikipedia is reliable in this instance.

But, yes, there are a lot of varieties that use squid and such @_@ .

This is the only thing that gives me serious inhibitions about going to Japan: I don't eat any fish that isn't actually a fish, I don't eat pig--basically, pretty kosher diet for me (raised that way--no, I'm not Jewish). The average Japanese diet is... well, not kosher.

Kobe's is pretty good too, although people in Kobe do concede that Osaka is the best. Since I don't like the big city I stick to Kobe Okonomiyaki.

ModernYaki might be my current fave.

Oh no my friend. It is a strange pancake from heaven that comes in many varieties... Cabbage, bacon, egg, and cheese being one of my favorites.

Really though, it's the sauce that makes it so wonderful.
