Time and Tuna are Running Out! -
12-03-2007, 09:06 AM
Over 40 nations, including Japan are meeting this week at the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission meeting in Guam. There is a chance to make history and preserve the last of the world's healthy tuna fisheries. Yellow Fin and Big-Eye tuna species are threatened by overfishing in the Pacific and scientists say that the situation is now critical. These species are important for the sushi and sashimi markets.
If you want to eat tuna tomorrow you should be interested in the decisions made at this meeting. The Big-Eye is on Japan and the world is watching. Click here to follow the blog I would also be happy to engage in a discussion here and answer any of your questions. -- the big eye (in Guam) |
