Some would say my wasabi mashed potatoes last night were Japanese, but somehow that seems an incorrect description of a dish made of Irish potatoes, horseradish grwon in New England, and mayonaise.
Calling it "wasabi" something may sound Japanese, but face it mayo and potatoes is about as white-bread as it gets, and I consider horseradish oh-so-very-British. Only an open mind and open heart can be filled with life. ********************* Find your voice; silence will not protect you.

Any idea why this is called Japanese Cotton or Cotton Soft? I checked several recipes for it and its a standard cheesecake that I have had in the U.S. before. Sort of like a light & fluffy version of Lindy's. Only an open mind and open heart can be filled with life. ********************* Find your voice; silence will not protect you.

Even though modern day Japan takes many liberties with what is considered and what has become "Japanese food", and lots of foods here can be pretty creative, I don't think "Japanese-type foods" created abroad can really count as Japanese food. |
