A last minute inspiration I made this evening ......
The rolls are just rice flavored with ume vinegar and filled with some pickled ginger and slices of a ume (plum) from the bottom of a bottle of Choya. The cup is Choya, not sake.

The goma would have been a good addition I didn't even think about.
Actually your suggestion is close to my original inspiration. Then I made the unfortunate discovery that my usual stock of umeboshi had been depleated and the shiso I picked up over the weekend turned out not to really be shiso. I don't know what this leaf was. It looked and smelled like shiso and had some of the taste, but also a strong flavor of licorice. While I love real licorice candy, this combination of flavors was somewhat unpleasant.

Guess I will just have to persuade you to make some for me.

Everything looks so yummy!! *_*

I don't eat meat so I mostly cook pasta, rice, veggies and make salads and desserts.

Friday evening is usually Suki's cooking time xD!

I didn't use to like cooking but now I'm always thinking about new recieps to try and coming up with new ideas for sauces lol

everything is relative and contradictory ~
