Cuz in china the cut down tons of trees to make disposible chopsticks isn't that sad? And I also learned from another forum, that if you are in japan and take your chopsticks to a friends house, you're totally dissin them so be careful when you do that.

Hello kitty chopsticks rule!
eh... that's... applicable to anything...
why would you take your own fork to some one else's house?

I said yes as i can eat with them but only to a point, as am a very messy eater lol especially when eating Chinese food, not had much Japanese food though, may sound daft but is it similar to Chinese food? Please don't flame me

Would hate to have to eat sushi though, a bloody steak is about the rawest thing I would eat. I should try it though *shudders*

japanese food is very different from chinese food x]
in both the ingredients used, and their cooking styles
however....
both foods (except for the americanised versions of them) are very easy to consume with chopsticks
>.>'

and you've never tried carpaccio? >.>?
You should =3 if you haven't
xD

Heheh I thought they would be different, well I Chinese food anyway, but the thing with chopsticks is I tend to like use them too near the point where they pick the food up and my fingers get greasy

Not tried carpaccio sounds italian lol will look out for it, thanks for the quick reply buddy!

x] you should try holding the chopsticks nearer the back >.>'
personally it's much easier and it allows for a greater range of motion >.>''

and meh... both cuisines have their own thing
I personally prefer japanese because i'm ... one more for exotic and different >.>''
sooo since i was raised on chinese food, it's grown to be somewhat of a bore
lol x]

and carpaccio is the most wonderful thing ever x]
thin slices of either raw beef or fish
drizzled w/ olive oil, a bit of salt, a crack of pepper, sprinkled w/ finely grated parmesan cheese and thinly sliced leaves of fresh basil, topped w/ a bit of capers and then finished w/ a squirt of lemon juice for that faint but oh so appetising hint of fresh sourness.

*drool*
x]

Yeah but the further back on the chopsticks the less strength or grip you have on your food... wow Carpaccio sounds hard to make but if you love it so much I will try it. Personally I kinda have a bland taste in food I love prawns, king prawns in batter lol

Could you recommend some less exotic Japanese cuisine to get me started on, a description of the meal would be nice to, I love fried rice and rice in general and all meats except raw fish
