I know that this is a bit off-topic for a thread on Japanese food, but I think that vindaloo is one of those things that's more popular in England than it is in India. It tends to be something that drunk British men eat to show off to their women folk, but it really just means something cooked with vinegar (and garlic?). The real men, of course, eat phall in Indian restaurants after pub closing time. That is usually the hottest thing on the menu and therefore even more impressive to the long-suffering British womenfolk.

Unfortunately for me I live in the north-west where there is nothing and nothing ever happens. It kinda sucks since London is one of the only places I almost almost semi-like in England, but it's pretty expensive.
I found a place in Manchester though that looks pretty good. Not been to it yet though so I can't say for sure but they're website looked okay. |
