It's interesting that so many people have mentioned "ramen" in this thread. I hate to spoil the fun but it is true that most Japanese people, including myself, would consider ramen to be a Chinese dish. Here in Japan, you go to a Chinese restaurant to eat ramen, not a Japanese restaurant.

ahhh true true could be also said that its of chinese origin but its been in japan since the meiji era (if im not correct please say so) so its also a part of japan. also since im sure when we say we eat ramen most of us is talking about instant ramen which i think most of it is made here :/
