Easy Japanese dessert recipes? - 11-03-2008, 05:44 PM

Ok well I'd really like to make a really good sweet dessert for my boyfriend- but every recipe I look up it callas for a trillion things I don't have or have never heard of lol is there anything I can make with foods I can find at a normal american grocery store? Cuz the asian market isnt really close by. Just something easy..simple- if such a recipe exists lol thanks

Not a chance.

Whew. Sorry that was so blunt, but I honestly don't think you could pull out an asian dessert without an asian market.

I was thinking something simple, like green tea ice cream(essentially, green tea powder and vanilla ice cream), but if you don't have an Asain market around(me neither, boo!!!!), I don't see how you can get the ocha powder! If you're really desperate, you can always try to make home made mochi! Lol, which I do NOT recommend! (But I still really want to try it.)

Good luck on your quest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I say next time you go to an Asian market, just get A BILLION japanese sweets etc like I do to share with everyone and it will last until you go again!
