Ah, yeah... panties...

I understand that those vending machines (for drinks) can be very handy, but... example: I was staying in Koganei(Tokyo) for one month and at the one corner they had 3 vending machines next to each other. But I guess that at one day maybe 5 people really bought their drink there. Especially when there is a supermarket around the corner where you can get Calpis for 90yen instead of 130yen (vending machine price).
I like vending machines, but aren't there just a little too... many? XD

I also think that Japanese dont care so much about the price, they rather have it convinient. I have seen machines selling 300ml coke for 120 and 500ml coke for 120.... But people actually also buy the small one because they are not so thirsty for a big one. I just think it weird that sometimes there is a machine fully designed in Coke design and the only thing you cant buy is a coke....
I thought that this huge amount of Machines will never be used, but Japanese love them and they get used everywhere! But (saddly) its rather hard to find food vending machines because the Japanese culture teaches you not to eat while walking, so you find them only in Internetcafes or gaming halls etc...

finally i know the reason why i have never seen snack vending machines! My bf doesnt like drinks from vending machines so much, so we always bought them at the supermarket. But he is not typically japanese anyway. ^^"

Seriously, if we had vending machines like that outside, they'd only last one night here! They'd be all tipped over and bashed in by morning -__-=
