Before trying to make sushi, you might want to learn how to read the titles of the existing threads.... like the permanent one for "Sushi Appreciation" or Japaense Food. There are several discussions in both about preparation.

i dont really know how to make it... sorry... but if you do figure it out, then i reccommend the california roll, or i once tried something called the dragon roll, and that's good if you like ovacado (which i do)

Hmm well i can tell you how i make it. Whether it is exactly traditional or not or even if it tastes as good as in japan (which im sure it doesn't). But it does taste on par with what ive had around my house which is around Chicago.

first off do you have a rice cooker? If not i would recommend it, especially if your going to eat alot of rice/ sushi. However if you have never had sushi and dont know if you like it that you may what to hold off so you dont waste money on something you may never use again.

Well actually i will update this in a second i have the exact measurements written down somewhere.

But what you will need is:
fish
sugar
salt
rice vineager
rice
kombu which is kelp probably not necesary but i always use it
nori which is what the sushi rolls are rolled in. not needed if you arent planning on makeing rolls
large pan/bowl to mix rice with vineager solution. More on that later.

.. why are people relying to a thread that's old news anyway? not even answering the OP's question xD

I'm closing the thread now, and Emeko, i suggest you look into the Sushi Appreciation thread; it is good

if you can't find any sushi place in your area, try google searching some in you less- immediate area, and if you're planing on travelling anywhere anytime soon, look up to see if there's any there too ^^

goodluck
