Just for the people who mentioned Wasabi...

If your talking about the green paste you get in a tube or the powder stuff, please understand that it is NOT Wasabi. It is a mixture of Wasabi and English mustard powder.

Real Wasabi is very mild and has a subtle flavour. I would rank it well below horse raddish for heat although it has a similar flavour.

You can eat it raw without fear of steam coming out of your ears or your eyes exploding. Infact it is so mild that it can be creamed and turned into an awesome icecream.

I think I will avoid the insectatarium as scrupulously as my mother avoided herpetatiums when I was a child. I think I could even manage to taste the broth of the cricket soup before intentionally walking into a place filled with insects.

We have only 2 restaurants here that serve real wasabi, which I love. I also like the fake stuff because I love horseradish. Where you can eat fresh wasabi, only a crazy person would eat fresh grated horseradish without it being diluted.

They have to wear gas masks in plants where horseradish is processed because of the fumes, and even the strongest packaging of it is not usually pure. Most often it is mixed with a small amount of milk.

I wouldn't touch it, but Thai people seem to have stomachs made of concrete!

I've see outdoor markets in Thailand selling raw meat with no refrigeration, in other words, this meat would have surely gone bad, and to make it worse, covered in fly's. They just buy, cook and eat.

the worst food I've ever had? chocolate covered Nori Pocky. oh MAN was that nasty! it left this bitter mint like taste I'm my mouth and it made every other food i ate seem to trigger my gag reflex. i had some at a international potluck for my Art class back when i was in community college. some Japanese exchange students i use to hang out with brought it in. and well.....yeah. it did not end well.

Octopus- maybe I just had one that did not taste good? Maybe some people eat it to trick other people to eat it :P

It would be difficult to try to eat again.

I once ordered fries at this restaurant that happened to be a seafood restaurant. And with the fries came these fried...octopus-like morsels. *blegh* I couldn't even eat them. My mom tried one...and she was like...it tastes like chicken. Purposely she would pick one up by a tentacle and lift above her head and slowly put it in her mouth...most grossest thing my mom ever did to me...on my b-day.
