Depends on the quality of the rice. If it is good rice, it tastes great plain. If it's so-so rice, a little furikake helps.

I was told to NEVER put shoyu on rice, but I do if there's no one to object. Just a little Yamasa or Kikkoman, mmm.

I also like to put a scoop of rice into my miso soup if the soup base is very strong...

I don't like my rice hot. Because I can't enjoy the food when it's hot so i let it cool down first. Then add soy sauce or salt.

Asians hate when you eat white rice with just soy sauce on it because soy sauce isn't used as a topping for white rice; it is used as a sauce for cooking different meals

I have also seen couples eat sushi and use nearly a whole (6oz?) bottle of soy sauce. If I use more than a small pour I am feeling a sodium induced heart -attack.
nothing wrong with pepper or ra-yu on ramen, but everything else there is a nono

mostly i just eat my rice plain, or with some green tea ... occasionally i will mix it in with tofu miso soup
