We have one asian market about 20 minutes drive from my house. They have some Japanese stuff, but more Chineese and Korean and Thai.
The BEST one for us was in Cambridge Mass. (next to Boston) but it just closed. Boston Globe newspaper article on it: With closing of market, area loses big taste of Japan - The Boston Globe best, ..................john |

There is an Uwajimaya and a Kikokuniya bookstore, in Beaverton, about 50 minutes drive from my house. I only recently went there for the first time, although I'd been to the one in Seattle.

We have two dedicated small Japan-Marts.
We have three Korean marts, and one Asian food store. We can generally purchase most Japanese food items here, although the brands and flavour choices are very limited. The prices are sky high. Sydney has much larger Japanese supermarkets, and of course China Town which is huge and sells a large selection of all Asian goods.. I often purchase goods from Japan as I visit to my place will certainly suggest. Cheers - Oz |

We have those fake Japanese resturants here too. But I think there might be an Asian market like half an hour away, I'm not sure.
