Without knowing or even seeing the menu, you would think the soy sauce would make the plate a little messy..

I guess makes it all the more convenient to dip the Sushi

"Westerners say it is Japanese, while Japenese consider this to be a Western or even a Chinese phenomenon....it is considered quite rare."
$1100 is a lot of rice hey!

You have to admit, it is a rather unique style of dining and I'm sure the price would warrant the plates salry, afterall, it would not be easy to find an employee to lay down naked on a table all night whilst the patrons push, poke and pluck with the sticks

Then again, it may be a turn on.. Who knows.. Either way, I've seen other uniqe styles of restaurants.

Take "No Hands Restaurant" for example in Bangkok

And here my past comes back to haunt............

Its really more common in the U.S. than most would think ,
but not in restaurants.

Back in the 1990s this was a growing trend as a "party feature" in the more exclusive "kinky" lifestyle. Not always for sushi, but for serving many types of appetizers and party noshes. Just when the guests were known to prefer sushi over any other cuisine and could afford the catering, it was this presentation. The "serving platter" was always a volunteer, so the price was not bankrupting anyone.

So my guess is it is definitely American in orign.

1100, that is ridiculously overpriced. I wonder if there is ever any awkward banter or if you must keep your mouth shut. What happens if you must sneeze? So many questions...

I would gladly volunteer. It seems more interesting that modeling for art kids.

It's a cool idea in theory but I probably wouldn't be keen.

I heard that these girls go through hours of scrubbing prior to being covered with sushi. Of course they're also trained to remain completely silent and stationary while the dinner service is on.

I'd like to check it out but for a $1000, I'd rather check out a ノーパンしゃぶしゃぶ... which of course is another one of those urban myth type of places.

I'm sure some of the tables would definitely be turned on with a dip of the sushi
