Quality food in Japan is much more expensive, and if you go to a $40 per person sushi restaurants, i would say you can get better service over here.
Even with things like yakiniku. In japan, the quality is much better, but you need to pay 3~4 times more than what you would pay in the U.S., except cheap things like beef bowls. Japanese and Asian snacks and food store in the U.S.. Tasty microwavable rice starting from 50 cents. |

There is no such thing as American food. American food is just a mixture of different foreign foods, just like everything of American culture is a mixture of someplace else.
That said, American food isn't that great of a mixture. Japanese food is much better than American food. Japanese people put alot of thought and energy into the food they made. And the end result is they have some of the best food on the planet. When I heard the words "American food" I immediately think of junk food like cheetos. |
