if you're looking for something different, try some hamachi (yellow fin tuna) or some ikura (salmon eggs). those are very good.

I haven't tried that one yet, I don't remember seeing it on the menu- then again I didn't really look for that specific item. Thanks for the suggestion, next time I head to my favorite sushi restaurant I'll see if they have it and give it a try. There's a very good chance they have it.

hrmm... it's probably a moderately common item. i'd say about 60% of the places that i go to eat sushi carry it. it's way better than your original hokigai, the smaller clam.

I do remember trying hokihai, it was a long time ago. I thought it was OK, but it really didn't tickle me. Have you ever tried japanese freshwater crab? They're so tiny! pop em in your mouth and eat em whole. That was fun to eat.

they prob don't like it cos its not fresh... if america is anything like england. they sell it in supermarkets ready made a day before. i think that sushi is discusting. the only sushi i like is the sushi my friend Ai makes from fresh fish... she's like an expert at it and also the sushi in a sushi bar (but this is a little pricey in london anyway)

I'm from the U.S., and I don't have a problem with sushi, I'm the only one in my family who likes it.

I'm english.
I'd eat sushi.
But I don't actually eat any meat, or fish.
I'd deffinetly want to try it but that would go against why I don't eat it.
So my view is that I would like to but can't.
Which means Im a non-Japanease person that thinks sushi would be nice.
