My friend's say they don't trust it because of the uncooked fish =/
Personally I love sushi but I can only have vegetable.

When I first tried it I thought it was revolting, just because it was so different to anything I'd tried before. Now I love it! But my mum said she couldn't even try because seaweed is something she couldn't put in her mouth.

Funny how that is because we're so ready to eat dead lambs.

I personally like Sushi, as long as the taste isn't too funky rotten or something.
Normal Sushi is great

many american's just aren't adventurous at all. that, and everything's cooked over here... people aren't used to raw anything (most people I know order their steak well-done too, it's kinda sad), and they fear whatever illnesses they can get from it. it's getting worse now too, since we're having ecoli and salmonella outbreaks, etc....people are starting to fear everything that hasn't been thoroughly cooked.

I love it personally...eel rolls...mmmm... it looks like a lot of people here like sushi too...but I think the majority of people here are more willing to completely immerse themselves in another culture, and are open to try new things. most people in the US just simply arent.

~laughs~ and when they see stuff like eel on the menu, it kinda freaks them out for some reason.

thnx boboloko for the sig!

Well it doesn't bother me. I like to try many a new thing. And I love the whole ieat it with chop sticks thing it was a challenge at first but I managed. My family doesn't mind it too much either but they said it's something they wouldn't eat ona daily basis.

In the end I guess people just turn their noses up to whatever they are not use to.

Well I guess it depends on where you live and where you come from. I come from the dry deserts of New Mexico where there is nothing but cactus and snakes. There is really no fresh fish there as you can imagen being stuck in the middle of the desert. So the fish is thrown into a frezzer for almost two weeks max and when taken out is only good for deep frying to kill all the bacteria that had been building up during the long hours in the fredge.

When i first went to California I ordered fish and ships (Yum! ) I was expecting breaded and fried fish but they served me fresh fish right out of the water and it wasn't even breaded. You can imagen how excited I was to have fresh fish and how confused I was at the same time. It was such a big change from what I was use to but the flavor and texture was so good I fell in love with it. Then I went to japan and had Sushi then I really fell in love with fish, speacially the fatty Tuna Sushi *Drooling all over key boards* and Crab rolls.

So many people don't even know about sushi unless they leave on a trip which with how poor they are it wont happen too soon.

Its strange I know! I'm from England and all my friends hate the idea of sushi, they all think its all raw fish but you can get so many different varieties! it's just a stereotype! Why won't they see? Personally, I like the raw fish. ( But I hate Wasabi!)

i've never tried that before, nor am i a big crab fan. one thing that was surprisingly delicious was lobster tempura. you're lucky if you get a female because when they mix the tempura batter, they use both the guts and the eggs of the female and it gives it way more flavor.
