KARELIAN PASTRIES! *waves Finland's flag* And uhh... Smoked vendace... Er... I think that's it, sadly. There are a multitude of other yummy Finnish foods, but you wouldn't have heard of them. T__T

It's so upsetting that America is the most culturally dominant country in the world, and our cuisine is so unimpressive.

At one time I didn't even believe we had our own cuisine, so I did a bunch of research on it, and we do, but the results of my research were quite depressing.

I find it shocking that the people who created something as unique and culturally profound as Rock & Roll or Blue Jeans never emulated that same success when it came to cuisine, unless you consider fast food to be that creation.

So many Swedish people have written here: I also like köttbullar, meatballs. But I love also a typical Icelandic meal, foal meat, Scandinavians have some nice meals, but also very strange meals I wouldn't eat like too old shark meat.

But back to Germany:
I like Schnitzel, I like the other German meat meals, like Haxe (leg from a pork), german sausages (also Blutwurst, sausage with animal-blood), but the typical meals differ here in Germany, from region to region.
Schnitzel, Haxe and so on you find more often in the South. Here in the North you can find many fish meals, and I like fish very much.

food - 08-16-2007, 07:21 PM

hmmmm England.........

fish and chips, fried breakfasts - sausage, egg, bacon, tomatoes, fried bread, black pudding (piggy blood), proper sunday dinners!!! - meat, veg, roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings (kind of like savoury pancakes) and lots of gravy!!
we are quite americanized lots of burgers and fries and all that. We tend to have lots of different food as we have lots of different cultures, indian, thai, chinese, japanese.

cant really say we have the best food really traditionally but hey.....
