I appreciate your effort, but here is a great example why Japanese Kanji are for Japanese names. You came up with Ma Mi Mu demon/charm/dream. well 魔魅 itself is already a word, meaning "a deceptive or deceitful spirit" leaving 夢 on it's own, so it might be read mu, or maybe bou or maybe yume. It's fun to play around with those websites if you like, but you are playing around with another country's culture. I would guess 魔魅夢 was the name of a VK band...never the name of a person. It's bad luck to have negative kanji in your name, and I think "deceitful spirit" qualifies there. If I wanted to write MMM in Japanese I would write MMM or エム・エム・エム. Don't get me wrong, I am not calling anyone bad or crazy for trying this, but just don't take it seriously, or you will be disappointed or worse. |

For LawlietsGirl:
Miraanda Dunakii, ミラーンダ ヅナコー For MMM: Yeah, avoiding pre-existing composites might be a problem. Like I said, I only spent five minutes on that. However, it can be done. I suppose if you wanted to ensure accuracy, you'd have to get help from someone who can read Kanji. If you make people think they're thinking, they'll love you; but if you actually make them think, they'll hate you. ~Don Marquis Quote:

Pre-existing composites are "safer" as there is only one way to say them. When you put kanji that don't go together and "make" a name, there might be a dozen ways to read it, and none would be "wrong". Japanese in Japan deal with this issue, as well, as they come up with new names for Japanese babies... Anyone who can read kanji and knows Japanese will tell you that foreign names are written in katakana. |

My family name in Japanese now become my nickname.
I am Chin... Since i am Chinese, my name is composed of 3 kanji characters. so, it's easy for me to say my name, just use ONYOMI. Funny that "Chin" becomes my nick not only a japanese name... call me chin please. YOROSHIKU NE. |
