Lactose intolerance, I did not know, but according to various sources it's ラクトース不耐症 (I think it says rakuto-su futaishou > can someone confirm this?). Lactose can also be in expressed in Japanese as 乳糖 (nyuutou). If you're allergic to cashews, I think you can just say カシューアレルギー (kashu- arerugi-). Likewise for an allergy to eggs -> 卵アレルギー(tamago arerugi-). Hope that helps |

I don't think my way particularly incorrect though, I have stumbled on phrases such as 私は卵アレルギーです and XXさんは卵アレルギーでした in text (I know, it sounds like "I'm an egg allergy", but I've encountered this fairly frequently). It's probably more colloquial.

私は卵アレルギーです 私は卵にアレルギーがあります But I probably wouldn't say: 私は卵アレルギーがあります Though I am sure the meaning would be understood. |

You are 100% correct. I just confirmed that. I had been saying it wrong for years. Sometimes I wish Japanese people would correct me more. Thanks! |
