Medical Term? - 03-15-2008, 12:38 AM

Looking for a more "refined" translation of this:

組胞

Essentially it means "collected placenta" (as in cells). Is there a person with some Japanese medical vocabulary who might explain? It might be a phrase (i.e., "stem cells"), but that's a guess on my part.

Thanks!

PS> Had a helpful Japanese doctor explain that it was probably a misprint for "saibou", or just cells. The first kanji was incorrect.
