That freezes my browser too Oh well^_^;

Update: I got it to work opening it with Word! yay!! ^_^; So uh... some of this is easy. "Options" and "Controller" and such, definitely easy...

The game itself isn't supposed to look any different at all, all we're doing is translating it form Japanese to English as you can see clearly in the menus and everything. The game actually runs on the PS2. You do need the original game to play online, however we haven't gotten that far yet as to create our own servers.

Basically what we're doing is distributing patches to "fix" the game for English translation. So once we release a patch, you have to patch your fragment disc yourself and burn it to a dvd and then pop it in your modded ps2 or use SwapMagic and you're good to go.

And yes the gameplay is almost exact to IMOQ except for being able to choose a different class and being able to play online.

Pretty typical game script - nothing particularly difficult or special about it.... Item names, menu commands, etc. The conversational bits are mainly sequential.

But it`s a lot to just randomly translate for free. Especially since I don`t have the game to check.
It might be fun though. Game translations are usually pretty easy if you skip localization. PM me with your group info, and I`ll think about it. My son just started kindergarten, so I have some time to kill.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

More like I could use the experience, as my dream job would be translating games.

(Though this isn't the case) game translations are usually VERY quick turnarounds.

that would be so awesome if you could, i know it is a bit much, but maybe we can compensate you in some way. we can be found here The World • Index page that's where most updates and everything are posted. also there are plenty more files that need to be translated, not expecting you to do even one full one, but just a forewarning.

Although you already have one offer, it looks like you have a lot more to do, so maybe I could pitch in too. I'm pretty much free this weekend at the very least, and I've played .hack before so I have some idea of context without the game (although having the game *would* help). I don't have a modded PS2 anyway (I was told it's a lot harder to mod the slim version) so I couldn't play the game even if I had it^_^;

Anyway, my Japanese skills are around the range of passing JPLT level 3, so if you think that's good enough to take a stab at some of this, count me in. Just PM me with what you'd like me to try and whatever other information you think is relevant if you'd like to take me up on the offer.

Otherwise I'm going to spend the weekend trying to translate some manga for my own entertainment :-Þ

well, i appreciate you interest in the project, and seeing as how you do have a good enough idea of the game and how things may be portrayed, that helps. register on the forums in the link i posted in my above post and introduce yourself. Coldbird is the forum admin and project leader. I'm sure he's like to meet you as well, I'll let him know about you. Thanks.
