Ok, there I was trying my first attempt at translating a doujishi comic, and it was going pretty good too!

untill I encountered some really bad handwriting, as if it had been written by a toddler in japanese!

well I went through the list of kangi characters I have and I fund something that came close... it mean't: (meadow,original,field,plain,prairie,tundra,wilderness) but as the symobls differed slightly I couldn't be sure, so I decided why not ask the experts...

the first picture is the badly written symbol in question, the second is the closest symbol I could find to match it (after going through over 6000 of them):

please help!

You really should have showed us some context. Are there any kanji or kana around this kanji?

You should also know that kanji in print will always look somewhat different from kanji handwritten.

Is that a Japanese name someone has given you? It's pretty old-fashioned, but that's exactly why some parents still like to name their daughters that name.

Oh thanks, one more thing though, I couldn't find those characters! so what are thier individual meanings (to help me understand the "translation context" which is the reason I'm translating a doujin) meaning I'm trying to understand japanese writing's "order".

and how do you put in a custom avatar? I'd like to use the picture from my "profile pic"

Knowing the original meaning of each of the kanji in 原子力 will probably lead you nowhere.

原 = field
子 = person
力 = power

Better to think of it as "原子"　＋　"力". 原子 is a word meaning 'atom'. This way, it should all make sense.

To have a custom avatar, you need to have made something like 25 posts.

Ah fair enough!, I should probably do some more research on kangi' romanization, so I can look them up as words like I do with hirigana and katakana....

and 25 posts that usually goes quick... especailly if I need help with something....
