"ワン" is an on reading (meaning it came from Chinese), therefore, it should be written in Katakana (the "boxy" script used for spelling foreign words), as opposed to Hiragana (the "curvy" script). I think that on readings should be be spelled in Katakana, or else Japanese learners will be confused. Hope you understand
