If you want an authentic-sounding surname, here is a list. (Don't use Tanaka or Suzuki because they're so common, your readers will assume you didn't bother to do any research!)

Sekine
Hasegawa
Ochiai
Adachi
Yasuoka
Terashima
Ogawa
Okawa
Miura
Koga
Higashi

Just off the top of my head...

how about Subaru昴 ?
Subaru is a kind of stars, means shining star.

how about Soh Hoshino 星野蒼, 星野 is Hoshino and family name, 蒼 is Soh and last name.
This is male's name, but be able to used female.
Hoshino means star ground, and Soh means blue, especially sky blue.

the other family name, Hoshikawa, Hoshimura, akaboshi,
hoshikawa means milky way, Hoshimura means village of star, akaboshi means

good luck!

Seriously, I didn't expect people to reply to my thread. :0 This forum is so nice.
Anyways, I decided to use Hoshiko as the girl's first name. But so far I haven't found a nice family name yet. Can anyone suggest some more? Feel free to use any name you see fit even if it doesn't fit in my criteria.

Excuse me but Hoshiko is so forced name I think.
I've never heard such a name, about first name, or family name.
it maybe better Seiko as a name than Hoshiko, they are same means.

By the way, name that means Dewdrop,
I have only one word, Shizuku.

But I really like Hoshiko.
And about the character, it's a Naruto fic. So technically she's a ninja.
I don't know what else I should tell you. So I think it'd be better if you guys just asked me direct questions of anything you want to know. That way I can help you with the answers. Just shoot the questions.
P.S. Can Haelin be used as a Japanese name?

I thought you were looking for a Japanese name.... Hoshiko? That's pretty straining. I'm a native speaker and those two members who have come up with 'Hoshiko' aren't.

What does it pronounced? It sounds like Chinese.

Ok then if Hoshiko's a bit straining, can you suggest some other name?
Something that has either "Snow", "Star", "Sky" or a name that has a pretty meaning that starts with H.

What do you mean by what does it pronounce? I just picked it off some cartoon. They wrote "Haylin" but I changed it to "Haelin".
