how can I write kanas, katanas and kanjis on my pc? - 11-23-2008, 08:35 PM

So, basicly I've a got my pc's keyboard which is a portuguese one and as you must know there's no kanji and all that stuff on my keyboard, and I would like to ask you how can I type kanji's and kanas...with my portuguese keyboard?
And how do you people with japanese keyboards type with "romanized" characters?

For me I am using a software that allows me to type Japanese, but I don't recommend it as it sometime crashes my computer. (Then why do I still use it? 'coz I am too used to it now....)

If you are using Windows OS, in Control Panel there should be a option named "Regional and Languange Options", click it and a window pops.

Under the tab "Languages", you can click "Details" under Text services and input languages, where you can choose other input languages in here.

Firstly, your problem is that you're using a PC instead of a Mac.

I'd recommend that you set your PC on fire to give yourself a good excuse to go out and get a Mac.

Then click a button that allows to type in Japanese and have fun.

What's the diference between a normal (English) keyboard and a potuguese one?

portuguese keyboard has got accents such as "~^ç ´´`" that the english keyboard does not have, and we also type some things in a different way...

I believe there is something on Microsoft's website that deals with that. I don't know where by my friend that lived in japan used something from there to type in japanese. Sorry for being so vague.
