it's not exactly that easy. The ones you will encounter most will be all the joyo kanji (some used more then others, but still if you only know some it won't get you too far) which is a list of 1945 (did it increase yet?) kanji that are most commonly used in japan.

Yes, this seems like a reasonable enough request. (In fact, I was thinking about this myself)
I personally believe it's more important to learn and remember the basics of the language first, rather than memorizing some sequence of words with only a limited understanding of it's construction. |
