[quote=masaegu;851097]1. Not really. It is saying that if he gets too deeply into the story, the music he makes will become too harmless and noncommital just like BGM.
ありがとうございました, Masaegu先生.

Masaegu先生, sorry, but I don't understood the nexus.
How more deeply, more commital, no?
Could you help my rock brain?

「あまり物語の中に入っていっちゃうと、あたりさわり なくバックアップするだけの
音楽になってしまいますから。」

I will explain what I can but please note that I don't have the context, particularly what was said before the line above.

This line is saying "If I get too involved in the story and tried to make the kind of music that would make the story better, the music would become boring because it would be too harmless, too neutral and non-commital. It would become just like regular BGM, which would often lack character because you don't want the music to stand out over the story."

It's saying that he wants his music to be independently good even without the story.

Thank you very much, Masaegu先生.
Previous line "真を仕事場に貼って、それを見て僕の中に 浮 か ん だ イ メ ー ジ で曲を書いちゃうんです。
Thank you very much, now it makes sense.
ありがとうございました, Masaegu先生.

Quick question, concerning relative clauses...
「オレが前にいた暴力の世界・・・」
"The world of violence I stood before..." [I feel like 「前にいる」 has more meaning than just 'being in front of' here...]
「あそこは自分の命も他人の命もどうでもいい人間ばか り」
"In that world neither my life nor the lives of others mattered(?) [where does 人間 fit in here?]

SP-cha~~n, 前にいた means "(I) used to belong in".

人間ばかり = there were only those who (couldn't care less about neither their own lives nor others')

Hey I need help translating this.

Valentines day. レイプされるかと思った...

This was said by a guy who was just hanging out with a girl. I google translated it and it came out " i wanted to be raped". I tryed to translate it on my own. I understand the first word, and the される part as "to "let (someone) do rape. or "to make (someone) do rape. I understand the "思った” part... Though.

but....maybe all of this put together means something different.
can someone clairify. Did this guy want to be raped? or think someone was trying to rape him....

Nevermind, Jenthepen. Just found out you never acknowledged my assistance, so there will be no more.

Oh, I see. I was curious about if 前にいた had another meaning since I looked up example sentences on tangorin.com and found this one;
「私が前にいた会社では、ある冬の暗い夜に全社員の給 与が強奪されました。」
"I have worked for one company where the payroll was snatched on a dark winter's night." but I still couldn't tell for sure what it meant. Thanks for explaining it to me. And once again I was way wrong on the relative clauses. I don't know why they're such a weak point for me... Oh well, hopefully I'll get it together soon

Oh yeah, sorry for the late reply, it seems that by the time I get done with homework and get to reading manga it's about time for me to go to bed since I got school in the morning. And it looks like I won't be on 'til tomorrow night since I'm probably gonna spend the night with a friend who doesn't have an internet connection :P Anyway, thanks for the help.

「前」 can refer to a point both in time and space.

Space:
家の前に大きな木がある。
私の前にスミスさんが立っている。
昨日は一日中パソコンの前に座っていた。

Time:
マクドナルドで働く前にバーガーキングで働いていた。
今東京に住んでいるが、その前は横浜に住んでいた。
あれが私が前に住んでいた家です。
__________

Relative clauses seem to be a week point for many Japanese learners. As for the English-speaking learners, I think two facts make it confusing to them.
1. Difference in word order. The position of the main noun in particular.
2. Lack of relative pronouns in Japanese.

Examples:

私が5年前に買った
the car that I bought 5 years ago

ジョンソンさんが若い頃勤めていた会社
the company that Mr. Jonson worked for when he was young

Yo, friends. Could you help me with 2 phrases?

1 原先生とも、映画やりましょうよなんでやりとりをしてるんですけどね
Composer said he would like to make a movie; after that he said the phrase above.
I don't understand the final; what relation with Hara-sensei in this production and what is this "なんでやりとりをしてるんですけどね"?

2 [任せるから、カッコ良い曲を書いて...]と言うわれたのを覚えています。
I have hughe difficult to understand who is talking when interloctor uses [ ].
Before this, there was "[こんどHNKというのをやるから]というお話です。"
Producer said he want the composer speaker to write musics to HNK.
So, I think now [任せるから、カッコ良い曲を書いて...]と言うわれたのを覚えています。 - the speaker says he remembers he said: "Since you trust it to me, I'll write nice musics" - Is it?

Thank you very much.
