Windows XP has Japanese input built in. If you don't have the Windows CD on hand, just go to your Language Settings in Control Panel and look around. I don't use XP anymore, so I don't remember. BUt you don't need to download a program for XP to support Japanese.

What program? Because if XP Pro isn't showing Japanese characters, you're doing it wrong.
Edit I'd never heard of XP Pro Essential. I did some googling and wikipediaing. It looks to me like XP Pro Essential is only a pirated OS. If this is true, I'd like to point out that you get what you pay for. Microsoft's own site lists only five versions of XP: XP Home XP Pro XP MCE XP Tablet PC XP Pro x64 |

Hmm, you could be right.... I got this OS with a computer we weren't using at work, and at the time I thought it was just a bare-bones version. The desktop does look quite different from most versions of XP I've seen...

That is just Windows XP with a custom theme.
For the language, Microsoft Global Input Method Editors (IMEs) Read that page, depends if you have Office or not. That page will lead you to install the language. ![]() Quote:
