About to start (what's good learning in beforehand) -

I'll start going to university this fall and I'll be studying Japanese for three years. I figured I'll try getting a headstart; I'm trying to learn all the Hiragana/Katakana characters. Is there anything else that's "easy" picking up on your own that you think will help me during class?

I think after you have mastered Hiragana and Katakana, you should to study the oration's sequence.
After it, to begin to learn about kanjis. Did you see this topic already http://www.japanforum.com/forum/japa...resources.html ?
