They don't use much slang in anime.

They're just using vocabulary you've never learned in class before.

I mean, can you imagine an anime (or movie, book..etc..) that is full of slang all over the place? It would never get published.

And how is  マジ slang? People use that word all the time.

Slang would be more like オナニ、おまんこ, チャッカ。。。。キラーパ� �

I'd like to point out that common-use doesn't make a word not-slang. That's like saying 'bitchin' isn't slang. I can give more examples, but I think you understand the point I'm getting at.
