Hi, could someone kindly explain to me if there is a difference between the usage of こと and のを?

眼鏡をかけることを嫌がる

眼鏡をかけるのを嫌がる

Same meaning but the latter sounds more colloquial.

It should be either 「こと vs. の」 or 「ことを vs. のを」.
