Grammar question from a beginner -

I recently started Rosetta Stone Japanese. I study very hard and understand it well so far. However, in the studio session I participated there was a part left me speechless. I was shown a picture where you see Rome and the map of Italy. Then the teacher asked:
Doko no machi desuka Kore wa dokono kuni no. (sorry I had to use latin letters) First of all, I understand the meaning of each word individually but I cannot make sense out of it, especially the second part. I would appreciate any help |

I think your teacher tried to say 'Kore wa dokono kuni no, doko no machi desuka?'=「これは、どこの国の、どこの町ですか/どこの街ですか?」=Which town/city in which country is this?
これはThis どこの国のof which country どこの町(街)which town/city ですか?interrogative |
