Need help with Japanese name and initials

Hello!


I have this Japanese military canteen. There is a named scratched into it and also a named stitched and inked on the straps.

Would someone be kind enough to translate them to me?

Do they all relate to the same soldier?

1. It says 植直. If it is a name, it is a very rare one. I do not even know how to read it.

2. "Fukuya". It is a family name.

3. "Masu(x)". Last letter is illegible. 99% sure it is a family name.

So, at least two solodiers used the canteen. Things were scarce back then.

Does "植" mean Shangdong, as in the province of China?

If so Japan occupied that area during the war.

No, it doesn't. Shangdong is written 「山東」 in Japanese and 「山东」 in modern simplified Chinese.
