How do you type in Nihongo?

I can see Japanese characters but not type them unless it's copy-paste.
So a normal keyboard will do, there's no need to buy an especific one?

I juse jwp to type. Its a japanese word processor like windows microsoft. It has the kanji and stuff and you can look up all the kanji.

You type in katakana by typing in caps.

as for doing it.. i have a normal keyboard, i just have to type out the sounds of the letters.. and how to install it.. i used the instructions above.. helped greatly
