Yo,
since he's spamming me in ICQ I want to give you my suggestion too. I thought about something like: アーネ Since you don't pronounce the "r" in the middle of the name (in my opinion..) it's the best solution you can find, because the "ー" is stretching the a. |

In that case, I think it's going to be your choice between
アルナ (think "Arna"—like the "ar" in "army" and then a [nə]) アーナ (think "Ahna"—like how Arnold Schwarzenegger says his name--a Britisher version of "Arna") アルネ (think "Arnay" like the "ar" in "army" and then "nay" like when a politician votes "nay") アーネ (think Ahnay with the variations explained above for Ahna and Arnay) MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service There is an audio recording of me (hilariously) attempting to pronounce your name and then saying these same four name katakanizations in the same order they're contained here. It's about 300KB and is an MP3. |

I'm living about 500 meters next to him, I know how to pronounce his name
Referring to your mp3, the last choice (which is mine :P) is the best I think. The "r" in the one above is really disturbing me, especially the Japanese pronunciation which makes it more like a "d"/"l" sound. |

That helped a lot, the last two sound quite good the difference between how you actually speak the r. In the north more the 4th, in the south the 3rd. Anyway, thanks a lot |
