Thanks for the lesson, shadowulf! I will definitely remember it! btw, how did you learn japanese??? You're like amazing!!!

In Japanese, the structure is TIME + SUBJECT は(OPTIONAL I THINK...) PLACE + へ + VERB, etc. So your sentence is basically correct. It just needs slight tweaking: 先週私は郵便局へ行きました。そして手紙を出した。 Just remember that へ comes after a place. Also, I'm not sure if you know about the -te form which could be used in your sentence. I think this is where I learned about it: te form 花鳥画は中国で始まって、唐朝の時代に日本へ入りまし た。 kachouga wa chuugoku de hajimatte, touchou no jidai ni nihon e hairimashita. Flower-bird paintings started in China and entered Japan during the Tang Dynasty. (Hope that makes sense ^^) I pass: 二日酔い (ふつかよい)hangover 〜〜〜クレヨンしんちゃん |

I don't have my text or anything on me to even know if this sentence I'm about to type is right, so feel free to correct me if I do manage to get it wrong. I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to adverbs.
I studied Spanish briefly but my Spanish is bad. 短く私はスペイン語を学習しましたが私のスペイン語は いいじゃない。 Mijikaku watashi wa SUPEIN go o gakushuu shimashita ga watashi no SUPEIN go wa ii janai. I really think this is way off. ^^;;; Anyway, I pass on...討つ (うつ) which means "to avenge". |

i learnt it through almost a whole year of repeatedly sending emails to a few different friends from japan, as if we we're having an msn convo lol actually i think it was more than a year on top of that, when i had spare time (yeh i had heaps back in the junior high days), i used to listen to songs and try to write out the lyrics by ear, and then finding a translation on the internet and learning new words from each song Quote:
but i guess your lack of practice shows in this i have to say, but plz dont be discouraged, keep trying personally, i would prefer to use words such as: 私はスペイン語を少し勉強しましたが、まだまだ【上手 じゃない/うまくない】です watashi ha supeingo wo sukoshi benkyou shimashita ga, madamada (jyouzu janai // umakunai) desu i dont think i can really explain it that well though ive never heard of 討つ as avenge.... but ill give it a shot lol 自分の友達の事を討つように、彼は熱心に訓練する事に 決めた jibun no tomodachi no koto wo utsu you ni, kare ha nesshin ni kunren suru koto ni kimeta To avenge his friend('s death), he decided to train hard ill pass 夏(なつ)- summer TheUnknown: Half-Brother Sachiko: Great Grand Sister Laina: Older Great Grand Sister MaymeRachael: Twin Sister Hentaro: Half-Sister Yuri: Lil Half-Sister Tsuzuki: Angel, (Im her devil, RawR) xYinniex: From-Prison Correspondant Sutiiven: Fellow Anti-Stalker Powermad147: Family stalker, ill stop him! ...Am emiluvsjmusic's Turnip... I wrote two sentences (with almost the same words) that mean the same thing (i think) b/c I wasn't sure which one made more sense... Can someone shed some light on this?
夏休みはちょっとだけもっと長いであればいいんだけど 。 natsuyasumi wa chotto dake motto nagai deareba iin dakedo. 夏休みはもう少し長いであればいいんだけど。 natsuyasumi wa mou sukoshi nagai deareba iin dakedo. If only summer vacation were longer... 愛想 あいそう civility; courtesty 〜〜〜クレヨンしんちゃん |

82riceballs correctly used 少し "sukoshi" to give the meaning "for a small amout of time". 短い is used more when talking about physical lenght (as when talking about hair, roads, compositions, etc.), or in composites such as 短い時間 (short period of time) or 短い間に (in a short time). You could use these forms in your sentence, as in 私はスペイン語を短い時間で勉強しました。 meaning "I studied spanish in a short time". The best translation for "briefly" is indeed "しばらく". Quote:
This shop is excellent, but the shop assistant is terrible!! He is always giving very rude answers to any question. I pass 尽きる "to come to an end" |

今、ガソリンの需要は大きいですが、将来にはこの必要 性が絶対徐々に尽きる.
Ima, GASORIN no juyou wa ookii desu ga, shourai ni wa kono hitsuyousei ga zettai jojo ni tsukiru. Currently, the demand for gasoline is high, but in the future, this need will definitely gradually come to an end. Please correct & critique as much as possible ^^ I pass: 真心 まごころ sincerity 〜〜〜クレヨンしんちゃん |
