What does よう mean in this sentence?

もう一つは、人間というのは、よほど嫌いな相手でない 限り、相手の短所より長所のほうに目が行くよう出来て いることが、さまざまな心理実験で明らかにされている

"よう:YOU" means "situation" in this case.

You can add "に" after "よう".

It is proved that human being is designed to focus more in good point than bad point of the other person.

Other examples:

好きなようにやればいいよ。 You can do it as you like.
ぶつけないように気を付けて。 Be careful not to hit it to something.
まるで夢のようだった。 It was just like as in a dream.
見つからないように、そぉっと行こう。 Let's walk quetly so as not to be found.
