I'm not sure if it was intended to be as sad as it was, but The Invisible made me cry ^_^
And Thirteen was a big tear jerker for me. Help my Cause for homeless teens!

Maybe 'Ningen no Joken' from Kobayashi with T. Nakadai (3 parts, more than 10 hours in totality). It is from ending 50s / early 60s, but it seems they still make nights with the three parts in one night in some cinemas in Japan. Definitively (sad and) great!
