I have three favorites. The first is The Seven Samurai, which is regarded as pretty much the greatest Japanese film of all time (directed by the legendary Akira Kurosawa). The second is Ikiru, the one movie that almost had me in tears by the end (also directed by Kurosawa). The third is Harakiri, which is just all-around amazing.
All these movies are old (late 1940s/1950s) but they are some of the best movies I've ever seen. I'd recommend them to anyone. Don't really have a "worst" yet. |
