I loved the death note films, but the characters look nothing like the actual ones. Misa has brown hair, L doesn't even have spikey hair >.< I've seen cosplayers 1000 times better, you'd think a film crew could do it better?

That is true...but it is really hard finding people that look like manga characters...

i thought they did a good job. L came out how people see him in the anime. a really weird freak. but still the best character

That's what the new movie tries to take advantage of, but it goes a little too far, in my book.

The acting was good yes, but the costumes could have been so much better. Like is said, there are cosplayers far better than the costumes on the film. While it's hard to look like a manga character, there are people who pulled it off so much better.

For example :

TOP : High budget Death Note Film

BOTTOM : Random cosplayer

See? If a random cosplayer can put that much effort in, why couldn't the film makers sort out the costumes?

Yeah, MissMisa is actually right,
but it's definitly hard to find people who are looking like manga characters.
..
Kenichi Matsuyama is a great actor to play L,
but I think somebody else could play Light better as Tatsuya Fujiwara.
They're just totally different!
And Erika Toda.. Indeed, she has brown hair instead of blonde.
But I still love the Death Note movies AND the anime/manga. ^^

I've got this movie on order. Whoo-hoo.^^

If your wings have been broken
and you can no longer move
come to find your peace with me
nestled here against my chest.
I will welcome you to this place
where flowers forever bloom
and will give to you a dream
from which you will not awake.

I agree about Misa. When it comes to costumes and looks of a character based off of a comic or animated series, I usually disregard it if the character doesn't look like the actual character, but with Misa, they could've done a better job with her in the movies. I've seen Japanese cosplayers of Misa and they looked really nice. They pulled off the look very well, imo. I didn't even like the wardrobe used for her in the movie. That could've been better too.

Anyway, I haven't seen the spin-off movie, though, I am interested in it.
