Looking for name of a movie.

The story revolves around a father who wins a contest and he has a certain amount of time to learn how to play a song on the piano. His kids want nothing to do with him, and his wife basically hates him, he loses his job, and has to work for the city working as signal man for city construction sites. I saw this movie on a flight to Japan a few years ago and I can't remember the name of the movie.
