The movie, in it's entirety, wasn't scary... But there were a few parts that really got to me.
More specifically, the part where the dead women crawls down the stairs... *shivers*

I'm just a big whimp when it comes to those sort of things.

ah...

well, yeah.... there's that.

I just tend to think the Japanese version is much better, the best really. Also, the American one was just a copy. I mostly dislike copies.

I know I'm gonna get hate for this one but personally, I like the American version of The Ring better than Ringu because the story centers more around the girl and it's just creepier for me :]
Ju-On is fantastic
And I wonder, has anyone seen The Red Shoes? It's Korean but it scared the crap out of me...

Yeah, the bit where she crawls down the stairs freaks me out everytime too! I'm fine with the rest of the movie...it's just that part...it disturbs me XD

Three extremes, movie samples. Cut, Box and short version of Dumplings

I love you for posting Three Extremes! But, all three were from different countries. Dumplings was from China, yes, but Cut was from Korea, I believe, and I know Box was from Japan. Because Miike was the director of Box. Marebito was just plot twists one after another. Um.. Suicide Club was a very black comedy horror in which the first scene involves 54(?) students jumping in front of a moving subway, and splattering the by-standers with their blood. There's also another one, which I can't remember, and it was ten tales of horror, often involving yurei, and the like. Also, check out Uzumaki. Saw it just recently, and loved it. Gruesome how they tangled up with each other. *shivers*

Now as for K-horror, I recommend Save the Green Planet! which is another dark comedy horror, about a crazed civilian who captures innocents he thinks are aliens and torments them in an attempt to get them to spill information. Sadly, I don't know much about Korean horror. I've never had the chance to watch them.

Chinese horror. The Eye, The Eye 2, and The Eye 10. America came out with a remake of the first one. But.. Eh. My favorite would have to be The Eye 10, which is not the tenth in the series, but in fact the ten ways to see ghosts. Not really scary at all, to me, it actually has its funny moments, but is still a must see.

Finally, Thai horror. Ghost of Mae Nak will f**k with you so much.. o.o A guy gets sliced in half after he is burned alive and stabbed, on accident, in the local square.

Now, there was already a place where we talked about this stuff. About the horror, and the demons and apparitions. In fact I created it. So, if you need any assistance on good horror, or are questioning what "that ghost thingy is", just contact me.

A side note, that movie, I believe was Ju On. Considering the girl in Ringu only manifests from TV, whereas the yurei from Ju On manifest wherever the bloomin' heck they wish.

Heaven or Hell, Let's Rock!
