It was a good movie, but I don't hold it that highly compared to some of Tarentino's other films.

Like Pulp Fiction, Death Proof, From Dusk Till Dawn, and Planet Terror.

Planet Terror is a Robert Rodriguez movie.

Technically, From Dusk Til Dawn is, too.

Well I guess movies that Tarentino had a strong involvement in :P

Point remains! I like his other movies more than Kill Bill.

Kill Bill. Heh, not Tarentino's best work but a great set of flicks anyway. No brainer fun.

The Kill Bill double feature is a hommage to blacksploitation movies, Kung Fu flicks and samurai splatter movies. Loved to see Lucy in a Kimono. I drooled. Love to see her on screen, think she is a goddess. Is there anything she can't do?

Whoops, sounding like a Lucy Liu fanboy now ^^. Uma was also on a roll in this double bill. Enjoyed it very much.

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
Henry V, St. Crispin Day speech

Vol. 1 was awesome, but I didn't like Vol. 2 (though I did enjoy the old master, I thought despite that he was a stereotype, he was still hardcore). The showdown between Thurman and Carradine was very disappointing. All that build up and it was like just one or two moves before she used her master's secret killing technique (I was hoping for a bigtime smackdown).

But yeah, the first one was excellent with the legendary Sonny Chiba and David Carradine, and boy did I fall for Chiki Kuriyama!

RIP David Carradine.

This movie is being shown at one of the old theaters in my town this week, I'm thinking about checking it out for the first time.
All I've seen of Tarantino so far is Pulp Fiction, which I didn't quite know what to make of.

ashogo, Go. I've seen vol. 1 about 5 times, and vol. 2, 2-3 times. Great, great films

Personally I thought Vol. 2 was sub-par compared to Part 1. Particularly because of how short the fights were compared to Part 1. She didn't even fight Budd and when she was getting into a fight with Bill and Elle you felt like a big sword fight was going to occur. However when she and Elle were talking about Pai Mei I was just saying, "OK! Just get to the damn fight already!" And then the two fights with Elle and Bill ended in 10 seconds.
