i loved the first movie, the second was a bit of a waste of time, but the book is excellent. i mean, the book book, not the manga... you know, those things with words in... (heh - try explaining that to the people in the ottakers near me >_>) i definately recomend finding a copy of that wherever you can!

in my opinion there should have never been a second one. Plus the stupid thing that i hated was that now the teacher in the first one's daughter( i think she was his daughter.. I saw the second one in Japanese) was in it. That totally ruined it for me and the unecessary flashback. did anyone see the special editon of BR1? i heard it tells you further details of Mitsuko's life....huh? Battle Royale 2008?.. hmm check this out nothing much but..

they cancelled coz the columbine? make sense... i hope they dont remake it... i have seen both now thanks to everyone... the second one had a good concept but it felt really redundant to put it out... i would like to read the book... and if you like chiyaki (chigusa) then you should check out Last Quarter/Kagen no Tsuki she plays in it... she isnt kicking but or stabbing guys where it counts but she does a great job in it..

battle royale 1 is a clever piece of work based on an excellent book. the 2nd film is a horrible mess, which isn't really its fault seeing as the director died during the first few weeks of filming. unfortunatly the reigns passed onto his son, who made a horrible preachy mess of a movie that was nothing like the original battle royale (the first 30mins everyone has their collars removed). the only thing that remained was the teacher and the teens.
